Shinta Mani Siem Reap consists of two main properties, Shinta Mani Resort & Shinta Mani Club. Shinta Mani Resort is a newly renovated boutique property centrally located in the leafy French Quarter between The Royal Gardens and the Old Market Area just 15 minute from the Angkor Wat. Shinta Mani Club, an upscale boutique hotel created by acclaimed architect Bill Bensley, showcases 39 contemporary designed rooms and public spaces in an Angkorian-inspired design.
Job Duties :
The General Manager of the hotel is responsible for the overall performance of the hotel and the long term strategic direction of the hotel. As such he/she is expected to set the tone for the hotels operating performance by leading the team from the front. The primary focus of the General Manager must be to deliver outstanding customer service, as this is the primary requisite for the long term viability of the hotel. The General Manager shall maximize profitability of the hotel by managing the hotel’s finances through the planning and controlling of revenue streams, cash flow and expenses. The General Manager shall also ensure that the asset is maintained in perfect working order and that the hotel meets all government and statutory requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to strategic planning, budget planning, forecasting, guest satisfaction, preventative maintenance, human resource management, risk management. JOB DESCRIPTION LEADERSHIP 1. Ensure that outstanding customer service is your primary objective and instill this belief in all your fellow team members. 2. Set the highest personal and professional standards for the hotel by your own performance, attitude and actions. 3. Recognize outstanding individual performance in the hotel and deal with substandard performance fairly, immediately and constructively. 4. Give clear, concise directions, provide support and supervise the team members to ensure that directions are properly executed. 5. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions and the actions of those reporting to you. 6. Establish a climate of motivation and enthusiasm in the hotel. 7. Create and implement long term goals and strategies that will cause the hotel to succeed and grow. 8. Get the right people in the right job. 9. Constantly seek to develop the expertise of those reporting to you. 10. Have a deep understanding of the hotel’s Vision and integrate this into your daily activities. 11. Adjust to changes in market requirements and the hotel’s operational strategies to meet business needs. 12. Exercise moral judgment, imagination and courage in the practice of leadership. 13. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and work with team members when required MARKETING 1. Have a keen understanding of the hotel’s market segments and their expectations. 2. Constantly seek to identify unmet guests needs and work towards developing new/improving current products and strategies to sustain our competitive advantage. 3. Know the hotel’s current and potential competitors. 4. Understand the product image the company aims to project and ensure that image is reflected in every aspect of the manner in which you manage your division. COMMUNICATION 1. Communicate effectively within the organization at all levels using the most appropriate communication method for the matter concerned. 2. Conduct regular brief, concise, well prepared meetings and ensure follow-up. Communicate with Guests and be visible in the local community as a representative of the hotel. 3. Be open to new ideas and new opportunities. 4. Be visible in the hotel and spend time “walking the talk” with hotel team members. ORGANIZATION 1. Maintain an efficient and effective administrative system. 2. Ensure that the hotel’s Management System is maintained and executed 3. Set policies and procedures pertaining to the hotel operation and ensure all manuals/systems are up to date. 4. Ensure all your policies and procedures are in synergy with related departments. 5. Maximize the use of available technology and systems to get results. 6. Ensure the facilities, equipment and offices under your supervision are maintained in excellent condition. 7. Participate in the hotel’s duty management roster. TECHNICAL COMPETENCY 1. Know your job and continue your self-development by self-directed learning and participation in company sponsored training programs. 2. Network within the company and the industry to keep abreast of developments affecting your field of expertise. 3. Coordinate the compilation of the hotel’s annual business plan. 4. Participate in controlling the hotel’s financial performance and provide the individual divisions with profit engineering guidance. 5. Analyze Key Performance Indicators and take remedial actions as and when required 6. Protect the hotel’s financial interest by implementing controls for revenues, expenses, protection of assets whilst ensuring guests get value for money and excellent service standards. 7. Have a good understanding of the hotel’s emergency procedures and ensure that the hotel is ready to implement any such procedures should an emergency arise.
